Hadid to Design Michigan Broad Museum

EAST LANSING, Mich.—Zaha Hadid has won the design competition for the $26 million Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University, which will focus on modern and contemporary art.

It will be the Pritzker Prize-winner's first building on a U.S. university campus and her second completed project in the United States.

Groundbreaking for the three-level museum, which will feature an aluminum-and-glass exterior and an adjoining outdoor sculpture garden, is planned for this fall. The project is expected to by complete in 2010.
