NEW YORK—The Dia Art Foundation's former home, at 548 West 22nd Street in New York's Chelsea neighborhood, will become an apartment building and art gallery hybrid, the New York Observer reports. Dia sold the building in early December for $38.55 million to an unknown buyer, and on Monday, Joseph Pell Lombardi, the architect hired by the buyers to redesign the building, emailed the Observer a rendering of the building's future. The existing 38,100 square feet will house gallery space, which will sell for $100 to $120 per square foot. The plans also call for an addition of two and a half stories that will add 22,380 square feet of residential space, which will go for $75 to $90 per square foot.
