EBay Seller Makes $300K on Bogus Damien Hirst Works

IRVINE, Calif.—Police have arrested a man who they say made at least $300,000 selling fake Damien Hirst artworks on eBay, the Associated Press reports. Detectives have confirmed Vincent Lopreto, 42, brought in $300,000 from the bogus works, but they suspect he sold many more pieces than they have tracked, offering fraudulent certificates of authenticity with the works.
