LONDON—Banksy's Laugh Now (2002), a painting of monkey wearing a sandwich board that was estimated at £150,000–£200,000 ($297,000–$396,000), sold for £228,000 ($451,440) last night, in Bonhams first auction dedicated solely to street art, Bloomberg reports. Bonhams said more than 500 people crammed into the sale on Bond Street, which brought in about a million pounds, almost double its low estimate of £550,000. Only one lot of 74 failed to sell.

Banksy's Kate Moss, styled after Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe paintings, sold for £96,000 ($190,080), more than three times its estimate. Keith Haring, Nick Walker, and emerging artists also found success. Many of the lots were spray-paints and stencils that began as graffiti.
