Art in the Age of Steam: Europe, America and the Railway, 1830-1960

This exhibit will depict how important European and American artists responded to the railroad from its beginning in the 1830s to the end of the Steam Age in 1960.&#160; <em>Art in the Age of Steam</em> includes artists such as Claude Monet, Charles Sheeler and Thomas Hart Benton.&#160; This collection of works will show how the railroad dramatically changed everyday life and introduced the power of mass transportation into modern culture.
