About Contessa Gallery
The vision of Contessa Gallery is driven by three main principles: passion, integrity, and education. Always with an eye toward quality, the gallery has assembled a world-class collection of sculpture, painting, masterprints, and photography. Coupled with a strong commitment to service excellence and connoisseurship, Contessa Gallery has attracted a notable local, national, and international following.
The gallery’s mission is to assist the client in the acquisition of art that gives deep personal meaning and enrichment to their lives. Contessa Gallery encourages its clients to build collections that touch them on a variety of levels – emotional, psychological, physical, philosophical, and historical. With an eye to the future, the gallery also encourages its clients to view their art collections as a legacy to be passed onto upcoming generations of family and to museums.
At the philanthropic level, Contessa Gallery seeks to make a difference in its own community through the contribution of time, expertise, financial aid, and educational programming for its local museums and arts organizations.
The roster of artists represented by the Gallery is very diverse – from Modern Masters to contemporary artists making history today. One of them is the famed New York based photographer David Drebin. At a time when assets are universally depreciating in value, Drebin showed that there is still appreciation to be found for the very best quality art. His 48 x 60” photograph “Movie Star” shot to a final selling price of $16,250 at Phillips de Pury’s spring photographs auction in New York on April 1, 2009, thus setting a new record and marking a watershed in Drebin’s career.
Another very important artist for the gallery is Hanneke Beaumont. Her works have been widely exhibited at prestigious public installations and museum shows throughout the world. A definitive monograph of her work has been published recently.
Through the years, Contessa Gallery has featured a great variety of important exhibitions, including “Hanneke Beaumont: New Works”, “Killer Looks: Iconic Fashion Photography”, “Lasting Impressions: The Pissarro Family Legacy” and “Whole Lotta POP!” Contessa Gallery has also very successfully exhibited in prestigious art fairs, such as Art Miami, Palmbeach3, USArtists, Los Angeles Art Show (FADA), ART Santa Fe and others.
A selection of artists represented by the Contessa Gallery includes:
