Highlights from the Permanent Collection: German and Austrian Art,
1890-1940,” a presentation of key works from the museum’s collection,
will go on view from July 24 to September 1, 2008. Among the featured
artists will be such leading Austrian figures of that era as Gustav
Klimt, Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, and designers of the Wiener
Werkstätte. German artists associated with the Brücke, the Blaue Reiter, Neue Sachlichkeit, and the Bauhaus will also be shown. The exhibition presents a wide range of media, including painting, sculpture, works on paper, and decorative arts.
