About Andrea Schwartz Gallery
Andrea Schwartz Gallery (ASG), established in 1982, is located in the South of Market district of San Francisco. Our new 3,400 square foot exhibition space allows us to feature our artwork with great lighting, expansive space and ground floor visibility to the neighborhood.
Andrea Schwartz, co-owner and director, graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1977. She believes that her background as an artist has assisted in her understanding of the perspectives and idiosyncrasies of the art world. ASG supports, promotes and nurtures the careers of the artists we represent. The focus of ASG is to exhibit challenging contemporary fine art of emerging and mid-career artists while always looking for promising new artists to showcase. Our main focus is painting but also exhibit sculpture, works on paper and installations.
Recent exhibitions at the gallery have been reviewed in ArtNews, Artweek, San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, San Francisco Bay Guardian, and SF Weekly. Gallery artists are included in museum collections throughout the United States and in Europe and Japan. We provide advice and consultation to our private and corporate collectors.
In order to gain more exposure for our artists we participate in many art fairs across the country. Art fairs we have participated in include: AAF Contemporary 2004 and 2005, Art Chicago 2006, Bridge Art Fair Miami 2006 and Red Dot Fair 2007. Since 2003, Andrea Schwartz has been on the Board of Trustees of the Napa Valley Museum. She has also been a member of Art Table since 2006. Andrea Schwartz Gallery was invited to be a member of the San Francisco Art Dealers Association in 2006. ASG participates in Last Saturday, www.last-saturday.com
