About Galerie Jerome de Noirmont

Specialized in contemporary art, on the primary market, and opened on October 6, 1994 on the initiative of Jérôme and Emmanuelle de Noirmont, the Galerie Jérôme de Noirmont represents world renowned French and foreign artists.

The gallery’s initial purpose was to make art lovers discover internationally recognized artists whose work was completely or partially unknown in France, such as the German a.r. Penck, and the American Jeff Koons who had his very first personal show in France at the gallery in 1997 (Koons’ only one-man show in France up till Versailles in 2008!)

Very interested in the 80’s New York art scene, Jerome de Noirmont wanted to honour three great artists ten years after their death, and thus organized three large retrospectives between 1997 and 1999 devoted to Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Keith Haring (the gallery represents his Estate in France since 1999).

Since then, among others, the gallery has also been exhibiting and representing:
Valérie Belin since 2007, Francesco Clemente since April 1997, as organizing by then its first painting show in France, George Condo since 2001, Fabrice Hyber, awarded the Golden Lion of the 1997 Venice Biennale, represented in worldwide exclusivity since 2005, David Mach since 1997,  Shirin Neshat, since 1999, when the gallery produced Rapture, one of her first films; in 2008, the gallery also co-produced Faezeh and Munis with Barbara Gladstone, Pierre et Gilles, since 1998, represented also in worldwide exclusivity.

The gallery also introduced very young artists like Benjamin Sabatier or Yi Zhou.
