Enchanted N-Visions

October 1, 2007—October 31, 2007

Displaying  synergistic perspectives, inspired illusions and immeasurable talent, “Enchanted N-Visions” reveals a poignant allegorical journey transmitted through the mirrors of the imagination, imparting a stunning visual feast of collage and figurative elements, creating an exciting diorama of beauty and energy.
Juxtaposing everyday phenomena with illusory dream-like microcosms, S.M. Lewis  uses his camera as a canvas and seamlessly blends each image atop one another, creating magnificent chromatic, surreal montages that know no boundaries. Beth Olds not only evokes Pop Art with her enticing images of food and drink, but she also pays homage to the Dutch still life masters by using Pop Art as an archetype, while making her art more accessible and relatable to the general public by reminding the viewer of the diversity of everyday commodities in mass culture.  The twilight atmosphere and fantastical subconscious reverie of  Ruth Poniarski’s private dreamscape world unfolds before us where her figures echo the statuesque nudes and bathers found in the classical repertoire, yet they have been placed in surreal arcadia where electrical outlets loom on the horizon and geese paddle alongside the clouds.
