Old-Noritake: Masterpieces of Nippon Porcelain

January 29, 2009—March 5, 2009

The Nippon Gallery presents “Old-Noritake: Masterpieces of Nippon Porcelain” from February 27th through March 5th, 2009. We have been extremely pleased that the current exhibition, "Old Noritake - Beauty Bridging East & West," has proved more popular than anticipated.  Taking its name from Noritake Company, Old Noritake is the genre of Western-style porcelain tableware produced from the late 19th Century until the end of World War II.  At the Old Noritake exhibit, about 80 items are displayed including flower vases, dinnerware, pitchers, porcelain figures, and tea cups and saucers dating from the time of the Meiji restoration to the late 1920's.
