The ADAA Art Show 2009

James Cohan Gallery is pleased to announce our participation in ADAA's Art Show 2009, opening on Wednesday, February 18 and running February 19th – 23rd, 2009. We hope you will be able to visit us at Booth D26 at the Park Avenue Armory.

We have curated a special group exhibition for our booth, entitled Body as Prop. This exhibition will focus on the various ways that contemporary artists engage the figure, featuring works that refer to the body as a tool or visual trope to represent humanity abstractly rather than in the traditional form of identifiable portraiture. Artists featured will include Vito Acconci, Trenton Doyle Hancock, Richard Long, Robert Smithson, Alison Elizabeth Taylor, Bill Viola and Xu Zhen.
