Artist Bio: James Douglas Adams is core Director of the Sam Fox School of Art at Washington University in St. Louis.  As well as one of the foremost instructors in anatomical figure drawing, Jamie Adams is a nationally known figurative painter.  He is also a highly regarded portrait artist having executed numerous portrait commissions including Robert P. Casey, governor of Pennsylvania.  His work has been exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, The Carnegie Museum in Pittsburg, The Butler Institute of Art, The Atrium Gallery at Salisbury University Maryland and the OM Gallery in New Orleans among other venues.  He received his Masters of Fine Arts at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and his Bachelor of Fine Art at Carnegie Mellon.
