Anna Matoušková: Places: Abstract Paintings, Drawings and Glass Sculpture. Homage to Leo Kraft

April 9, 2008—July 10, 2008

Co-sponsored by the Aaron Copland School of Music and Czech Center New York. An exhibition of the artists' glass sculpture will be presented concurrently at Chappell Gallery, New York City.

Five years ago, Anna Matoušková, a Czech painter, sculptor and glass artist, met in Prague the American composer Leo Kraft, Professor at Queens College. They became friends and spent hours talking about art and music, discovering in a continuing dialogue that while their media differ, their creative processes are aligned. The core of this exhibition is in Matoušková’s art born of reflection on Prof. Kraft’s compositions. She dedicates it to his 85th birthday.
