About Galerie Lelong
Galerie Lelong
opened to the public in New York in 1985, and
in 2001, the gallery moved to its present ground floor location in Chelsea. In last 20 years, the gallery has presented
exhibitions by seminal artists of our time, including Andy Goldsworthy, Alfredo
Jaar, Gordon Matta-Clark, Cildo Meireles, Ana Mendieta, Robert Ryman, Sean
Scully, Richard Serra, and Nancy Spero.
The gallery’s focus is the primary representation of important
contemporary artists from the United States, Europe, and Latin America who work
in sculpture, painting, photography and new media. It also represents the Estate of Ana Mendieta
and the Estate of Hélio Oiticica.
Galerie Lelong also works closely with museums and public institutions
to support the placement of permanent commissions, monographic exhibitions and
publications by its artists.
Galerie Lelong is
a member of the Art Dealers’ Association of America, the most prestigious
organization of art galleries in the United States.
Galerie Lelong is affiliated with Galerie Lelong, Paris, and Galerie
Lelong, Zürich, two of the most distinguished galleries of modern and
contemporary art in Europe.
