New York, NY April 29, 2009. The Gabarron Foundation, in association with the José García Jiménez Foundation of Murcia and the Casa Pintada Foundation of Mula, presents ³Eight Poetics of Women², an exciting group Exhibition of Nine Spanish Artists at The Gabarron Foundation Carriage House Center for the Arts, 149 East 38th Street, in New York. The exhibition, which will feature ten videos on gender-based violence and contemporary women¹s issues, is sponsored by the Culture and Tourism Department of the Regional Government of Murcia and begins with an opening cocktail reception on May 8, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.

The exhibition is curated by Mari Trini Sánchez Dato y Antonio Parra and the nine artists are: Tatiana Abellán, Lorena Amorós, Begoña Carrasco, Lola Gouine, Mabel Martínez, Mar Sáez, Erica Trejo and the team of Silvia Viñao and Laura Cortés. Through the performances developed in the cartography of the body (body art) they offer diverse artworks, sometimes pictorial and fragile, sometimes dramatic, however always original and evocative.

The Gabarron Foundation Carriage House Center for the Arts, a non-profit foundation, has been serving the Spanish and American communities since 2002 promoting the Spanish and Latin American Arts and Culture in the United States through exhibitions, seminars, lectures, etc.  It also serves as a meeting point for people, organizations and governments to promote the exchange of world cultures and has been working closely with diverse organizations from the United States and Europe.
