About Barry Friedman, Ltd.

This August, Barry Friedman will move his gallery Barry Friedman Ltd. to 515 West 26th Street. Friedman, a long-established presence in the international art market, is known for introducing important 20th century European fine and decorative art works to an American audience. After 40 years on the Upper East Side, the new Chelsea space marks an exciting step forward in the gallery’s evolution.  The gallery will open with seminal exhibitions by renowned glass artist Toots Zynsky and the first American exhibition of Norwegian contemporary figurative painter Anne-Karin Furunes.

Barry Friedman is continually forging new paths in the decorative arts fields. Inaugural exhibitions of new work by two of the top artists in their particular fields herald the gallery’s shift toward a more contemporary program. Barry Friedman Ltd. will have a refined focus in contemporary painting, photography and sculpture, contemporary decorative arts including glass, ceramics, and metal, and contemporary furniture design.
