Empty Pockets, 2008

Rhode’s new digital animation Empty Pockets will debut at the Ullens Contemporary Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing on March 8th and at Rhode’s solo presentation at the Joburg Art Fair in Johannesburg on March 13th. Empty Pockets centers its narrative on the game of pool or billiards played outside in the public realm, as is common in neighbourhoods in South Africa and the outskirts of Beijing.
