William Kentridge is firmly established as one of South Africa’s contemporary art heavyweights. He graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 1976, majoring in politics and African Studies. He also studied Fine Art at the Johannesburg Art Foundation and the L’Ecole Jacques LeCoq in Paris where he studied mime and theatre. His diverse background resulted in an aesthetic that spans a broad range of media from drawing and printmaking to animated film and theatre. |
