The Fair runs March from 13–16, 2008 in the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. On sale will be the largest collection of African and South African contemporary art ever assembled, covering an area of 5000 square meters.

Additionally, a curated show 'As You Like It', compiled by guest curator Simon Njami (curator of Africa Remix exhibition, co-curator of 2007 Africa Pavilion at the Venice Biennale), will feature work for sale by 29 Artists from across Africa.

Special Projects 2008 highlights significant entities in African contemporary art through the allocation of special booths at the Art fair. This year, Special Projects focuses on FUNDA Community College, Tonic Design and artist Robin Rhode.

The Joburg Art Fair forms part of Artlogic's Joburg Art Week, which brings together an unprecedented line-up of visual arts in the city. Also forming part of the Art Week is The Talks, a forum for lively discussions around African contemporary art by significant thinkers and practitioners in the field.

“The Joburg Art Fair will establish South Africa as an essential stopover on the global contemporary art buying calendar,” says Ross Douglas, director of Artlogic, the company behind the fair.
