Long ago in an isolated museum in France, I came upon Medieval Books of Hours.  These were painstaking renditions of prayers and thoughts surrounded by colorful and haunting illustrations.  The essence of these hours touched me and would not leave.  I began a process of capturing the spirit of the Hours by creating my interpretations, 'Illuminated Pages of Seconds', a twenty-first century evocation of emotion, color and meditation.  Each 'Page' is also a painstaking process, a redundant meditation that mixes the planned and the spontaneous.  After numerous firings and rearranging, and touched by so long ago, a 'Second' emerges in fused glass.
