James Caprell

(Armenian, b. 1976)
What transforms a blank canvas into a Caprell painting is movement – the activity formed through color placement, linear structure and layered texture. These compositional elements harness and express my emotional energy. I work the canvas until I have reached a sufficient depth to entice the eye, stimulate the mind and captivate the heart, aiming to send the viewer on a visceral ride through the painting.
