Bernard Charoy’s artistic career has been profoundly influenced by his family’s creative lineage combined with the art treasurers of his French birthplace. At an early age Charoy demonstrated his gift as a draftsman with pen and ink drawings, and as a young man pursued his aspirations to study painting and lithography. Although he had a successful career as an illustrator with top French and international magazines, that did not seem to satisfy his creative instincts. Following his heart’s desire, Charoy left his commercial work and dedicated his life to becoming an artist. Today he is considered to be a brilliantly talented figurative painter, whose enchanting images of feminine subjects evoke profound sentiments. Whether he has painted a secluded landscape, the innocence of an adolescent girl, or the glance of a beautiful woman in full command of her seductive powers, Charoy's paintings always communicate an emotion or response.
Bernard Charoy was born in Nant-Le-Grand, France, in 1931. His art has been featured in exhibitions in Europe, North America and Asia.
