Style/Movement: Contemporary Nicola ROSINI DI SANTI grew up in a Parisian district that brimmed with art and bustled with activity. At the age of ten he discovered the workshop of the famous Argentine sculptor Hugo Demarco, and after seeing the artist’s work returned home to create treasures of his own. Nicola’s older brother was one of the last heirs to the golden era of bronze foundry art, and taught Nicola, who was now a teenager, how to work with the metal.Today, ROSINI DI SANTI is a master sculptor whose creations combine two powerful elements found in nature - water (glass) and fire (bronze). ROSINI’s pieces seem to come alive as he captures the flowing and delicate spirit of water and contrasts it with metal and the hardness of life. The artist integrates space and movement as a part of his medium, and the tables, chairs or figures he creates possess a magical simplicity that is original, graceful and intelligent. Nicola ROSINI lives and works in Provence, France. He was born in Italy 1959, and studied woodworking and furniture making at the School Boule. |
