Ed Baynard: Greatest Hits

As a master watercolorist for the last 35 years, Baynard has perfected his vocabulary. This contemporary era of his work contains his classic imagery in a vibrant new medium - acrylic on canvas. These mature works, "Greatest Hits," are an intimate distillation of his life's work. The restrained still lifes are painted in an unsentimental and sophisticated approach. His canvases echo the quiet intellectualism that one finds in the compositions of Morandi. His floral works reference the Japanese aesthetic as well as that of the early 20th century American Modernists.
