Works on Paper Gallery: Prints from South Africa

September 4, 2007—October 14, 2007

Since 2,000, a group of artists working at the Egazini Outreach Project in Grahamstown, on the Eastern Cape of South Africa, have been producing striking black and white woodcuts that graphically depict life as it is today and as it was. Fifteen prints, from the Art Museum at MSU?s collection and on loan from the Sragow Gallery, New York, provide a rare opportunity to see these powerful images that fit within a long aesthetic tradition of political and social-themed prints.
