Cecelia Condit

CECELIA CONDIT is a video artist who received a B.F.A. in sculpture from the Philadelphia College of Art, PA and an M.F.A. in photography from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. She is the recipient of numerous awards including grants and fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the American Film Institute and the National Endowment for the Arts and the Mary L. Nohl Foundation. She is currently Professor of Film and Video and Director of the Graduate Program in
Film at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Condit’s films have been shown internationally at institutions and festivals including the Paris Biennale; The Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY; Institute of Contemporary Art, London; Berlin Film Festival, Germany; The Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh; Pacific Film Archives, Berkley Art Museum, CA; World Wide Video Festival, The Hague; Museum of Art, Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, PA; Long Beach Museum of Art, California; and The
Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, MA. This show marks Ms. Condit’s first solo show in New York and the world premier of her most recent piece, Annie Lloyd.
MARY LUCIER is an American artist who has worked in many mediums including sculpture, photography, and performance. Concentrating primarily on video and installation since 1973, she has produced numerous multiple and single-channel pieces. Her work has been shown internationally in museums and galleries, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, CA, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY, the Museo Nacional Reina Sofia, Madrid, Spain and ZKM, Karlsruhe, Germany. Lucier has been the
recipient of grants, awards and commissions from public and private foundations including the Rockefeller Foundation, the Guggenheim Foundation, the Jerome Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. She was recently awarded the Skowhegan Medal for Video in 2007.
