Documentary Photography of Dorie Hagler

Capturing ordinary moments in an extraordinary light, documentary photographer Dorie Hagler focuses on the activities of Northern New Mexico she fears may no longer be practiced in 50 years. Not intended as nostalgia for the past, these photographs are meant to honor and preserve traditions of a living culture.

Her upcoming show, Keeping Faith, will open at JHS Gallery of Sacred Art and Iconography on June 30th and feature work Ms. Hagler has created during the past three years in Taos. A limited edition book of her images, Keeping Faith, a New Mexico Photo Album, with an introduction by Taos writer John Nichols will be released in conjunction with the show and available at JHS Gallery for $30.
