Mel Kendrick: Red Blocks

October 4, 2007—November 10, 2007

Starting from a solid block of mahogany wood, Kendrick dissects geometric forms from the medium’s innards and then reconfigures them on top.  The harmonious outcome is handsome and playful, a fascinating mathematical feet.  His intuitive constructivist process must be experienced in the round, as the curious visitor is challenged and rewarded with a new surprise at each angle.
