Allison Schulnik: "No Luck Too" at Mike Weiss Gallery, September 4 – October 11, 2008

Mike Weiss has “No Luck Too,” the New York debut of Allison Schulnik, a painter and video artist afflicted by the most desolate vision. Her picture surfaces are heavily loaded, and her subjects are wretched refugees from some nightmarish circus. Whether at the monumental scale of some of the paintings or that of the video monitor, her art proves genuinely harrowing.
