Phyllis Bramson: "Kerfuffles" at Claire Oliver Gallery, September 5 – October 4, 2008

After all the politics, paranoia, and bodily functions, a final pick that — in its title at least — suggests something a little lighter. But “Kerfuffles,” Phyllis Bramson’s new show at Claire Oliver, is serious stuff, despite the artist’s ostensibly playful approach and her recurrent use of cartoon-like imagery. Multi-paneled fairy stories they might be, but you’ll notice there aren’t too many happy endings.
