Pietro Roccasalva

Painting purists are perpetually concerned with the extent to which the Biennale pays homage to their preferred medium. And Birnbaum has been quick to stress that it will play a part in his show, particularly in the form of works by a younger generation of Italian practitioners, such as Pietro Roccasalva, who also works in sculpture and installation.
