Sandra Bloodworth: “Mary Miss’s South Cove in Battery Park City was created in collaboration with architect Stanton Eckstut and landscape architect Susan Child. This artwork was commissioned the same year I came to the MTA and began a career in commissioning public art. I was impressionable, and this artwork impressed me. I later heard Mary say that her goal was to create an intimate experience for the viewer in a public setting. That was exactly what I experienced when I saw this piece.”
