Curator's Voice: Barbara Bloom on Barbara Bloom

Barbara Bloom, "Goethe’s Corridor" (1998)
Archival inkjet print, custom mat

This photograph of Goethe's residence in Weimar is located in the "Framing" section of the "Collections of Barbara Bloom" catalog, which says, "In Goethe's house, each room is a discrete space and simultaneously a passageway to someplace else. Each punctured wall is a barrier, and a frame, and a backdrop for the next frame, and, in the most literal sense, a passe-partout."
