AMSTERDAM—More than 20 original works by Abstract Expressionist Sam Francis will be on public display for the first time Nov. 19th in an exhibition mounted by Gallery Delaive here.
Sam Francis: The Unknown Works from the 1990s comprises a series of works on paper and canvases produced by the artist during one of his last summer retreats to his Manchester studio in 1990. PR Newswire Europe describes the soon to-be unveiled works as expressive collage-like images in a review of the exhibition and the artists career.
Francis often worked outside the United States; in 1956, he was dubbed The hottest American painter in Paris these days, by
Time magazine.
