Centre Pompidou, Musée national d'art moderne is presenting through Aug. 21 the first exhibition in France dedicated wholly to David Smith, the great American 20th-century sculptor, to mark the centenary of the artist's birth (19061965).

The exhibition brings together 46 outstanding sculptures and 12 drawings from prestigious American public and private collections and from several major European institutions.
