NEW YORK—

Mark Wiener is a full-time artist. Linda DiGusta is a writer and editor. The couple, who collaborate to create the online art publication Resolve40, live and work in New York City.

Our First Acquisition:

It was an untitled oil painting by Mark Stone, a former studio mate. We admired Stone’s work, and he admired Mark’s, so a swap was made. His work is at the same time grotesque and reminiscent of classical painting. Watching the work in progress, and viewing so many pieces together, it became clear that there was something very special here. It is very exciting to be able to own a small part of this body of work, and we actually purchased another canvas at a later date. They are hanging together in our living room.

Our Most Recent Acquisition:

It’s is an untitled ink drawing from the Music Series by Iliyan Ivanov. The artist had a solo show at a Chashama Foundation gallery, and we took one long look at the opening and just had to have it. We loved its musicality and sense of humor. We paid $500 for it. Again, it’s hanging in our living room.

Our Favorite Piece in Our Collection:

A vintage Hogarth print, Marriage a la Mode (Plate V). We bought it at a flea market for $1,000. It’s classic, theatrical and—oh yes—naughty. It hangs over our bed, of course.
