Birthday Bash at Marian Goodman

NEW YORK—An array of art stars showed up at the Four Seasons restaurant to celebrate the Marian Goodman Gallery’s 30th anniversary with an elegant dinner and party on September 10. The gathering followed the opening of “30/40,” a two-part retrospective exhibition featuring a selection of 40 artists from the gallery’s three-decade run. 

The Museum of Modern Art’s president emerita Agnes Gund spent the evening palling around with the artists John Baldessari and Lawrence Weiner. Whitney Museum of American Art curator Chrissie Iles also was there, along with the artists Tacita Dean and Jeff Wall.

We also caught a glimpse of Studio Museum director and chief curator Thelma Golden, plus artists Dan Graham and Gabriel Orozco.
