September Horoscope — Libra

Published: September 1, 2007
Libra
Sept. 23–Oct. 22

This month you keep your heart energy and power behind the scenes. You need a lot of time alone and prefer not to be in the spotlight. The Sun, Lord of Ego, is in isolation and in the sign of Virgo, so consider this a spiritual cleansing and rid yourself of energy that no longer serves you. This is an excellent time to meditate and to sit still and imagine a cord that connects the base of your spine down to the center of the earth. Let all that is no longer of value to you drop down that cord. You are typically of a sociable nature but time with yourself can be fulfilling and fill a void.

You may have several opportunities to travel, but with Mars, Warrior Lord, ruling such endeavors, squabbles can easily ensue in foreign places. Instead, pick up some challenging books that engage your mind. Uranus, Your Inner Disturber, is in conflict with Mars, and this energy is quite conducive for intellectual combat, especially as Mars is in Gemini. Serious debate or in-depth challenges of any status-quo thinking is very good with this energy. As the martial part of you urges worldly combat, do your work from behind the scenes. Write letters to the editor, get politically involved from your desktop, support a cause with an anonymous donation. This month is about balance, a theme that comes natural to Libra—the Scale. It is about finding an elegant middle way between deeply inspired private time and social activism.

You have a particular affinity for the weakest segment of our society. You are tuned in to suffering, and at times you feel that your service to the poor and needy is essential for your own health. In fact, you have some intuitive and revolutionary thoughts about how to help those in need. The more you clear out your inner space in meditation, the sooner you can set some of your ideas in motion. It is possible that you partner with someone, in particular a strong and influential woman, and support or even initiate relief work in your neighborhood or on a much larger scale. Let her take the lead while you work behind the scenes. Such a project can be enormously rewarding for you.

With the Moon, Queen of the Hearth, signifying such a partnership to help the world, it can also have an amorous aftermath. Or, you may wish to undertake this work with someone who is already your spouse, roommate, or otherwise living with you.

There is a mysteriously creative ability forming in you. This emerging gift may be hard for you to put into words. Try expressing yourself artistically instead. Perhaps watercolors or music are appropriate means to an end now. Poetry is likely easier than an essay, and certainly fiction is easier than fact. If you remember your need to meditate, great inspiration can come your way.
