Dutch Architecture Firm Named for Cincinnati Art Museum Redesign

Published: October 5, 2007
CINCINNATI—The Cincinnati Art Museum has named Rotterdam-based Neutelings Riedijk Architects to redesign and expand its current facilities, reports Interior Design magazine. The commission is the firm’s first in the United States.

The project is expected to include renovations of nearly all of the museum’s seven current buildings, and to add at least 50,000 square feet of design space. Says Aaron Betsky, the museum’s director, "We were impressed with Neutelings Riedijk's inventive ideas, which will allow us to intelligently reuse space and spectacularly reimagine our facility.”

The firm’s recent projects include the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, the STUK Performing Arts Center in Belgium, and the opera house Kolizej Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
