NEW YORK—Everyone from Martha Stewart to Tibetan monks wanted to be in one place the evening of October 2: the Rubin Museum of Art’s Nine Rivers Gala celebrating the institution's third anniversary.
Famed novelist Elie Wiesel was one of the honorary chairmen of the event, which included cocktails, an awards presentation, and a dinner in the galleries. The writer Ishmael Beah (who was honored at the event) also was there, along with supermodel Petra Nemcova, the novelist Salman Rushdie (an honorary chairman) and painter Hunt Slonem. Museum founders Shelley and Donald Rubin celebrated, too. |
