LONDON—After tracking some VIP acquisitions during the opening hours of Frieze, this reporter returned to the tented confines of Regent’s Park to make some personal selections.

The pretend choices—no deals were made—were based solely on visual appeal with zero regard or fealty to gallery, location, or price tag, though $100,000 was the fictional limit apart from one exception.
