In Brazil, a country rife with violence and poverty, Muniz believes that an arts organization can train children to do the type of work that he is often commissioned to do, and thus make a good living. But the project, he stresses, is not about raising awareness of the children’s misfortune, “it’s about how wonderful they are.”
