LONDON—Elton John's photograph by Nan Goldin of two naked girls is not child pornography, said the Crown Prosecution Service today, the International Herald Tribune reports.

The Baltic Center for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, England, had handed the photo, Klara and Edda Belly Dancing, to police on September 20, a day before it was due to go on display.

The center also closed "Thanksgiving," an exhibition of 149 Goldin pictures at the request of John, who had purchased the series in 1999.

According to John, the photo in question has been exhibited across Europe and the United States without any objections.
