Dimitri Ozerkov, the new curator of contemporary art at the Hermitage, wants to expose Russians to contemporary works, which they were denied during the Soviet regime. Works by Chinese artists—including Zhang Xiaogang's A Big Family, which Saatchi bought in 1995 for $1.4 million, the highest price for a contemporary Chinese artwork at the time—will be among the first to travel to Russia. |
