The artistic community picked some creative party places to stage celebrations in early November:

On November 2, a kitschy "Champage, Caviar, Hog and Hominy" party at Stubb's Bar-B-Q in Austin, Texas—complete with burros carrying beer—celebrated the $30,000 Arthouse
Texas Prize-winner.

A more sophisticated party took place in Los Angeles on November 7, when interior designer Kathy Taslitz's previewed her first collection of sculptural furniture at Martin Katz's home.

And the swankiest of them all happened in New York on November 8. With dinner by Le Cirque and music by Ferraby Lionheart, the Guggenheim International Gala was quite the night, held at Hudson River Park's Pier 40.
