NEW YORK—The
Whitney Museum of American Art is collaborating for the first time with the
Park Avenue Armory and Art Production Fund to provide a second venue for its
2008 Whitney Biennial. The biennial, set to take place in the museum from March 6 to June 1, will feature 80 artists and occupy the entire museum, with the exception of the fifth floor, while the new location, the
Seventh Regiment Armory building on Park Avenue and 67th Street, will provide space for performances, temporary installations, events, and other public programs by biennial artists from March 4 to March 22.
Among the artists selected for the 2008 biennial are
John Baldessari,
Shannon Ebner,
Omer Fast, and
Karen Kilimnik.
