MIAMI—Florida was already feting Art Basel Miami Beach on Tuesday, December 4, two days before the fair's official launch:

Cartier, the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, and Interview magazine hosted a private dinner for Cuban-American artist Jorge Pardo at the Cartier Dome in the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.

DJ Ruckus played the Florida Room, Lenny Kravitz's new lounge in the basement of South Beach hotel the Shore Club, which opens to the public December 8.

An Argentinian tango trio played the Delano for ABMB's welcome reception, attended by New York gallerist David Maupin; Swarovski international communications vice president Nadja Swarovski; and art publicist Sara Fitzmaurice.

Galerie Bertin-Toublanc, one of Paris' most acclaimed contemporary art galleries with a roster of such international talents as Britain's Mauro Perucchetti and China's Liu Bolin, opened its first North American location in Miami's Wynwood district.

Actress, model, and painter Anh Duong; New Museum director Lisa Phillips; and socialite Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos partied with T: The New York Times Style Magazine, which hosted a glam launch party for its equally glam website at the Raleigh.
