SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—The Mary Heath Keesling Trust has given $400,000 to the San Francisco Art Institute to establish the Mary Heath Keesling Scholarship Fund for MFA students in drawing, painting, and sculpture. Keesling, who died in 2006, was a long-time arts advocate in San Francisco. She was a member of the school's board of trustees, as well as one of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art's board members, supporting the acquisition of works by California painters such as former SFAI student and faculty member Richard Diebenkorn.
