Baroque Italian Painting Makes U.S. Debut

NEW YORK—Starting this Saturday, New York's Italian Cultural Institute is displaying the painting The Ascoli Piceno Annunciation (1628), by the Baroque Italian painter Guido Reni, for the first time outside of Italy.

The exhibition is the first of a series of art exhibitions that newly named director Renato Miracco, a scholar and art historian, envisions for the institute, located at 686 Park Avenue, between 68th and 69th Streets.

The painting is being lent by the Ascoli Piceno Pinacoteca and will travel in early January to the Yale University Art Gallery, where it will be displayed for three months starting in February.
